Dypsis decaryi or Triangle Palm is a popular choice in a large garden space for that solitory planting of a large feature palm. Height can reach 15 metres when quite advanced in a garden setting, but is relatively slow growing. Spread of fronds generally requires a garden space of 5 x 5 meters to enhance that solitory look.

Crownshafts have an attractive green/bronze hue due to the fibrous brown hair like covering. This cover recedes down the crownshaft towards the trunk where persistant leaf bases are arranged at approximately 120 degrees to each other. Neatly trimmed, these leaf bases add an attractive dimension to the plant. As with the leaf bases, the arching fronds project uniformly and provide the major visual impact of the planting.
